The movie Downfall won a slew of awards and was nominated for an Oscar in 2005 for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year

I’d never heard about Downfall before seeing it on the Desk Jockey’s site, and I ended up buying it after watching the clips here.

So in other words, the asset sale is going to happen.
With the Z, I’ve found it works best to assume the opposite of what he says.

I don’t think I will ever be able to watch this movie now without it being about Nortel.
Asset sales must happen. It is the only hope for rank and file. They would get a chance at working for a real management team.
Whatever remains of Nortel will likely implode if it ever exits Chap 11. Shattered credibility, a workforce poisoned against the executive management. They have salted the earth. The only hope seems to be asset sales.

The last email from “Mighty Imperial Emperor Z” contained no information of substance.
If, after an asset sell-off, parts of Nortel WERE to emerge from CH.11, I think that the remaining employees would be able to re-build – but under a new leadership team….
